Stefanie Irby, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Stefanie brings a wealth of experience working with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, stress, mood disorders, relationship challenges, and self-esteem concerns. With a background spanning clinical social work, school-based services, and health education, she understands that each client's journey is unique. Stefanie creates a warm, authentic space where clients feel truly heard and supported as they explore their thoughts and emotions. She believes therapy serves not only as a tool for healing during difficult times but also as a preventative resource—a place to process life's everyday stresses, build resilience, and develop deeper self-awareness before challenges become overwhelming.
Stefanie takes a holistic and collaborative approach to therapy, tailoring each session to meet her clients' specific needs by integrating psychodynamic, strengths-based, and cognitive behavioral (CBT) techniques. Drawing from her extensive experience as a school social worker addressing trauma, crisis situations, suicidal ideation, communication difficulties, and behavioral challenges, she helps clients analyze both past experiences and present circumstances to gain meaningful insight. Her work as a Family Health and Resource Facilitator and her background in health coaching inform her understanding of the mind-body connection, allowing her to support clients in developing comprehensive strategies for emotional regulation, relationship improvement, and overall well-being.
Stefanie is deeply committed to building trusting, empathetic relationships with her clients. She collaborates closely with individuals and families to create personalized goals that empower lasting, meaningful change. Whether working with a student developing social skills, an adult navigating a major transition, or a family seeking better communication, Stefanie provides practical tools and compassionate support to help clients enhance their sense of self and thrive in their relationships and daily lives.
Education: Stefanie received her Bachelor's degree in Communications from Bradley University and her Master's of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Jane Addams College of Social Work. She holds her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential and Professional Educator License in School Social Work. Additionally, she earned her Certificate in Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and completed the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) program at College of DuPage.
